WHEN MEMORIES ARE A TREASURE
In Cetona , at the right of Caffè dello Sport, during June and July a big linden with its perfume used to pervade the XVI century square giving shelter in summertime to the people and tourists sat at the coffee bar. During the night young people used to stay there for long sat on the wall near the linden, talking about their conquests and hopes. It was not just a tree, but a reference point, where people could remember and talk about future.
INIZIATIVES FOR DEVELOPMENT
When some businessmen gathered together to realize new initiatives for tourism and for Cetona economic and social growth, they thought to name their company “Il tiglio di piazza”, because they wanted it to be a point of reference and social development. A realized project: the old building at the bottom of Piazza Garibaldi, completely restored, At upper floors became a tavern with four suites and two deluxe rooms, While, the famous Ristorante di Nilo was placed at the ground floor, near the ancient Caffè dello Sport,

A unique... tavern
The XVII century building hosting the tavern, the coffee bar and the restaurant, is at the bottom of the big square realized at the end of XVI century by the marquise Chiappino Vitelli, the general who was given by Cosimo I dei Medici the Cetona marquisate
as a prize for his victories. To its left side, the Rivellino, the XV century tower placed to defend the Middle Age entrance of the village; and to its right the palace Terrosi Vagnoli, with its huge park rich in Etruscan findings. A place, hence, rich in history and charm, an ideal setting for relaxing.
